Out of the dark into the light

Just after diving in to this project I realized I forgot to take a before photo but you probably get the idea from the half painted table and the glass top leaning against the radiator.
The red peeking in to the picture was going to replace the green but as it turned out, leaving it plain white looked far better.

  • Vinyl coated tablecloth (bought mine by the meter)

One ugly picture

Take one ugly faded picture (and cups of tea to help brain cope).....

......with very ornate frame bought cheaply at a carboot sale

Add strange floral ornaments with flat back

Add drinking straws from fast food place
Stick flowers on ugly picture and add straws as stems
Hide joints with filler of your choice (I used No More Nails for filing and gluing)
Paint all of it white (or any colour you like)
I undercoated twice and then finished off with White High Gloss
Let it all dry then hang on wall in contrasting colour

Voila!
Beautiful unique art for very little cost and effort!

Nest of tables

The first project in a long time is a nest of three very tired tables that were given a new lease of life with a lick of paint.

They went from this....

.........................to this!

They look so much better and help brighten up my recently decorated lounge.
